Storybuilding Workshop: The Frame Inside the Pages

Date(s) - 01/29/2023 - 02/26/2023
2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

In this five-week workshop, we’ll peel back the layers of story structure, starting with the main character’s personal arc as the backbone of every great tale. Then we’ll map out essential plot points all stories have. We’ll recruit a cast of memorable secondary characters, and we’ll explore the fundamentals of settings that drive a story forward. By week 5, you’ll know how to outline a story effectively and efficiently, from any starting point that resonates with you—characters, action, or setting.

Workshop sessions will be in Zoom at 2 pm (Pacific Time) every Sunday. In between, you’ll be reading, watching movies, working on outlines of your own, and sharing ideas with your classmates. By the end, you’ll have everything you need to start building layered stories like a pro.

Zoom sessions will be recorded in case you miss a workshop.

Registration closes on January 28, 2023. If you can’t register, then it means the class is full.
