Graphic novels have become a popular medium in all age groups and genres. The format engages the readers in a new way and gives storytellers a wide breadth to showcase their creativity. In this class, Ken will share the step-by-step process of writing and illustrating a graphic novel. He will show real-world examples and demystify the visual language of comics.
Ken will also share how his story (Mischief and Mayhem) started as a 32-page picture book and was transformed into a 240-page graphic novel.
Ken is an award-winning author and illustrator and has illustrated for magazines, children’s books, and graphic novels. He is a member of KidLitGN (graphic novel pitch event), a teacher at Storyteller Academy, and a former illustrator-coordinator for the Nevada Chapter of SCBWI.
